Not only are tomatoes delicious raw in salads or cooked down in sauces but they also provide some amazing health benefits!
Rich in Antioxidants – tomatoes are full of the highly effective antioxidant, lycopene. Lycopene has been proven to tackle free radicals that could cause cancer, according to studies published by Harvard.
High in Essential Nutrients – tomatoes are very high in vitamin C, vitamin A, potassium, iron, and vitamin K. Iron is important for normal blood circulation and vitamin K is essential for blood clotting!
Lower Blood Pressure – due to the high potassium levels of tomatoes, they make a great agent for reducing hypertension. Potassium relaxes the tension in blood vessels and arteries which increases circulation and lowers stress on the heart muscle.
