This week Lettuce helped host and celebrate the first Farm Stand and Craft Fair at Whisper Valley!! Every 3rd Saturday you will be able to find us with fresh local veggies and local artisans and their crafts from 9:30 AM-12:30 PM in the Discovery Center.
Whisper Valley and Lettuce are working together to bring sustainable and Earth positive events to the community in East Austin. Our farm stand and craft fair is a step in that direction! In the future, we also plan to host classes, workshops, foraging hikes and all sorts of fun activities.
Several people came through to learn about our local farming systems. Amongst our visitors was Roland of Ecocrete, an exciting company discovering water-permeable concrete! This is super important in a world where concrete prevents water from reaching and recharging our aquifers.
Our cutest visitor was Koda, his human was the first resident to move into the neighborhood and he’s clearly very impressed with our Kale growing skills.
We hope to attract and meet many more people and groups pushing the boundaries of sustainability and providing them waste-free, organic and local foods straight from our neighborhood farms!
Join us next time, Sat 1.20.18 – 9400 Petrichor Blvd I Whisper Valley, TX 78653
