Hello Fellow Urban Farmers,
September has come and gone and October is just getting started. With days becoming shorter and nights becoming longer, the soil is beginning to cool down making way for the more tender, heat sensitive crops of fall that we all know and love. Be sure to add a fresh layer of compost, 1 in – 2 in to your garden to bring a fresh flush of organic matter and nutrients to your favorite fall crops, to protect against the coming frosts, and to retain moisture. Also, be sure to decrease watering regularity as the temperatures drop and evaporation slows. This and other simple additions of compost can keep your garden healthy and vibrant all year round.
Here is a list of a few crops to get your fall garden started today!
